Phyllis Winmar is a Senior Nyoongar woman with strong connections to multiple Nyoongar families and regions. She was born in Kellerberrin and has lived in the Kwinana area for over thirty five years.
Phyllis is a dedicated family person and provides her community with support also. She is a strong and effective leader who is a high valued person who always finds time to give back to community.
As a long-term community person, she has served the Kwinana and Rockingham areas by actively learning and practicing her cultural responsibilities from her Senior knowledge holders and representing her Aboriginal people in various sectors of mental health, health and education.
Phyllis is involved in keeping her culture alive and gives others the opportunity to embrace and appreciate Aboriginal peoples culture.
Phyllis has a varied personality with the qualities of generosity and thoughtfulness and promotes good values and virtues by participating in society as a valued mentor and life coach.
